Product Introduction
Shrinkage Reducer MP-SRA1501 is an admixture used to reduce shrinkage and cracking in concrete. It is a light yellow transparent aqueous solution made from specially synthesized water-soluble polymers and various organic small molecules. The typical dosage in concrete is 0.2-2% by weight of the cementitious material.
As is well known, autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage are significant causes of early-age concrete cracking. In particular, for high-strength concrete with a strength grade of C60 and above, autogenous shrinkage accounts for more than 50% of the total shrinkage at 28 days and is a major factor contributing to early cracking. Established theories suggest that both autogenous shrinkage and drying shrinkage in concrete are caused by the capillary negative pressure generated by the meniscus effect of water in the capillary pores. The magnitude of the shrinkage stress caused by capillary negative pressure is closely related to factors such as the surface tension of the pore solution, the pore structure of the concrete, the hydration process, and the internal moisture development.
MP-SRA1501 works based on these principles. It significantly reduces the surface tension of the concrete pore solution (from 74 mN/m in pure water to <30 mN/m) at low dosages, which improves the hydrophobicity of the capillary pore walls. This leads to a notable reduction in autogenous and drying shrinkage. For high-strength concrete in the C60-C80 range, autogenous shrinkage can be reduced by 15-40%.
